What is contemporary acupuncture?
Contemporary acupuncture focuses on a painfree insertion of the needles. It utilizes acupuncture points that are local to the problem area, sites along the muscles beside the spine that encouarge circulation to the area and systemic regulatory locations that also relate to that region. That is 3 different levels of stimulation to the nervous system. Electrical stimulation is also commonly used on the inserted acupuncture needles. I have found this to be very effective in treating chronically tense muscles.
